TOURISM MALAYSIA RESUMES TO ENTICE INDIANS AT SATTE 2022


NEW DELHI, 18 May 2022 –Tourism Malaysia participates at India’s largest tourism fair, South Asia's Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE), for the 18th year in Delhi NCR. The threeday event from 18 to 20 May 2022, is an effort to lure back Indian travellers after the longawaited reopening of Malaysian borders on 1 st April 2022.


At SATTE this year, Tourism Malaysia aims to raise awareness of Malaysia as an ideal holiday destination and instill confidence among Indians to feel safe to visit Malaysia once again. With more than 35,000 visitors expected to attend the event, this will anticipate to increase the number of Indian tourists to Malaysia significantly, as well as encourage greater cooperation between tour operators and members of the tourism fraternity.


The Malaysian delegation headed by Dato’ Sri Dr. Anil Jeet Singh Sandhu, Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia together with 15 tour agents, three (3) hotel operators, three (3) product owners, three (3) airline operators, and one (1) state tourism board along with several officials from Tourism Malaysia.

Genting SkyWorld, Southeast Asia’s most anticipated outdoor theme park is finally open, while Penang has been listed on CNN’s Best Travel Destinations in 2022,” said Dr. Anil Jeet Singh Sandhu.

Malaysia has opened its shores for quarantine-free travel and welcomes fully-vaccinated international travellers. Starting 1 May 2022, fully-vaccinated inbound travellers are no longer required to undergo pre-departure and on-arrival COVID-19 tests, including children aged 12 and below. Currently, Malaysia eVISA can be applied online and more than 14,000 seats are offered weekly between India and Malaysia through Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, AirAsia, IndiGo, and Air India Express.
